The Lucky Ones

On a warm summer's day as I lay in bed waiting to get up, I could hear a rumbling noise. The dog was playing in the backyard, she started to bark and run up and down the flower beds. I raced into the garden and looked up at the mountain. I noticed other people outside their homes too. We were shocked to see Vesuvius smoking.
The rumbling turned into a roar, smoke and ashes spat out of the cone and there was a strange smell in the air. Everyone was panicing, Vesuvius was about to erupt. Nobody had seen this before. What do we do? Where do we go? Mum and dad raced around the house collecting a few things we might need. I grabbed my stone pebbles, knuckles and wooden figures.
Larva started to spurt out of the top of the volcano. People were everywhere. Quickly my family and I ran down to the sea front where dad had his fishing boat. As we sailed away I looked back at my village, larva was pouring down the hillside into our town......as I cried I thought..... we are the lucky ones.

Lost In Another World

We arrived at the airport, dressed in our winter snow clothes from Europe, as we stepped outside the hot air hit me with a bang. Our taxi driver took us through Georgetown, passed the big tall unit apartments, busy city streets and up the winding road into the jungle alongside the beach. The water was clear and blue, it sparkled in the sun. I was amazed and happy at what I saw. I was excited about my time in Penang.
Wow! I thought as we arrived at the hotel. It was big and beautiful but at the same time it was peaceful, quiet and surrounded by lovely gardens. The cool breeze was blowing off the ocean and the palm lined pool sparkled. The gardens were tropical, green and colourful. When we were inside the hotel grounds it was like the outside world didn't exist. I played and relaxed, had fun with my family, laughed and I didn't have time to worry about anything. Outside it was boiling hot, you could feel the heat from the BBQs as the local people were brewing up their nightly feast. At night the streets were alive with atmosphere as the market people tried to sell off their fake Rolexes to excited tourists who thought they were getting a real bargain.
I was lost in another world which felt like heaven.

The Design Of The Novel's Cover

On the front of the book I'm reading The Medusa Project it has four teenage students on the front in the back ground they is a symbol of the Medusa Project, there is white and black splatters of blood or liquid on the cover as well which tell that the teenagers are up to no good. The cover tell me that the book is a bit of an mystery, and that the teenage boy how is in front of the two girls and the one boy tell me that he is the head charater. I did not realy chose this book but the title The Medusa Project The Set Up just seems quite interesting. A good front cover of a book needs a good title, colours that stand out, a slogan and some pics-charaters on the front. A bad cover of an novel will have not much of a veriaty of colours on the front, no slogan, no pics-charaters on the front and the title does not stand out proparly. I haven't realy come across a book that has a good front cover and did not turn out like I did not expected it to. I had a look at Tom's book Bunker 10 it looks like it is a bit of a last stand type of theme it seems to interest me abit. The Book Bunker 10 was one of my choces.

Think About Your Reading Expreriences.

I only read in my bedroom at home, at school I read in the library and if I go out somewhere I read in a park. I find reading easy for me at night after dinner, after lunch and when I feel tired. I like this book because it is quite interesting, it is something new for me and I would like to try out new authors. I haven't heard of the author's name before and the title just got me quite interested in it. I recommended this book to my cousin and she has started reading it already. She basically likes alot of things I like because we have alot in common. I also recommended this book to my friends and they said that they will try it out. My cousin said that she likes it and that I should read more of the author's books that she has published. I do not have an author that is similar to the author's book I'm reading at the moment. The other author's I have heard of and read their stories are J.R.R. Tolkien, Adam Blade, Sophie McKenzie, John Grogan, Christopher Paolini, Anna Fienberg and Barbara Fienberg and H.I. Larry.

The 'Blurb' on the back cover.

The 'Blurb' on the back cover says,
Fourteen years ago, scientist William Fox implanted four babies with the Medusa gene - a gene for psychic abilities. But Fox died and the babies were hidden away for years. Now the children are teenagers  - and unaware that their psychic powers are about to kick in. Cocky, charismatic Nico thinks his emerging telekinetic abilities will bring him money, power and the girl of his dreams. He's about to find out just how wrong he is...
The Blog tells you that how the Medusa gene works. I really did not choose my book my first chose was a book called The Thief but somebody took it before me. The book that I'm reading sounds quite interesting. The blurb on the back of the book is very interesting to know. The part of the blurb that got my notes is the name of the gene The Medusa Project. It sounded like something was up with the teenager's. I recon the blurb on the back of the book was very well though of but I think a little more detail could of been added. The back of the book has a symbol and a two of Sophie McKenzie's books. I recon the blurb should have more info there and maybe a couple more of her books.

What's in a title??

The title for this book is called the The Medusa Project The Set-Up By Sophie McKenzie.
The title of the book seems interesting at first it didn't grab my fancy by when I was getting into the book it just came so interesting. The title itself The Medusa Project The Set-Up sounds like it a mystery book, the cover itself seems like the four students are up to no good.
